GTeSelle2As many of you know, besides being a realtor, I donate time and funds to the lighthouse ministry of prayer-care-share at Turn ON the LIGHT-Bowie, an affiliate ministry of the Light of the World Foundation. The purpose of the Foundation is to be a catalyst for churches, businesses, and Christian organizations to work together to carry out the Great Commandment (Matt 22:37-39) and the Great Commission (Matt 28:18-20); to love their neighbors and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Turn ON the Light-Bowie sponsored several successful events again this year, starting with a Bowie Pastor’s Forum luncheon in February. The brainstorming session resulted in nine ways the churches could work together. The pastors have been coming together monthly in prayer and fellowship.

MWallaceMark Wallace, our new Care Ministries Coordinator, is working with the various non-profit organizations and Christian churches linking the many ministries to the Care pages on our website. We are hoping to greatly expand and enhance our database resource for our community in 2015. So, come back often to see the updates.

TomK-portraitThe Bowie Prayer Walk, led by Tom Knorr, completed its 15th season covering all the city neighborhoods with intercessory prayer. In May, we organized a multi-church National Day of Prayer event at Bowie City Hall.

At the Saturday morning breakfast at Bowie High School, Pastor Bolden shared a message titled, “The Best Decisions You Can Make in Life.

AL readsTo encourage the men to continue to meet as small groups, Al Goff, our Website and Operations Team Leader, published a new Bible study on the “Book of 1st Peter.” Al’s Bible studies, as well as my workbook on “Living as the Light of the World,” are freely available from our Download Stuff webpage.

As Turn ON the LIGHT-Bowie and Light of the World Foundation ends this year of growth, we ask you to remember the “Foundation” in your year-end charitable giving plans. With your help, we hope to equip and inspire others to be the Light of the World wherever they live, work, or go to school. All contributions are deductible for tax purposes and you may securely give online using the Donate button at the bottom of this page.

Please remember to pray that our plans for 2015 are God’s plans. You may see our tentative 2015 schedule by clicking on the Events menu. You may have a calling from the Lord to join our team. Contact me because “many hands make the work light.”

For His Glory,

Galen W. TeSelle
President, Light of the World Foundation
Executive Director, Turn ON the LIGHT-Bowie
