Session 8: Waiting for Jesus

communionThis is Part One of blog posts about John, Chapter 21.
Much has happened to Jesus since our Session 7 study and we need to think about those important events in order to set the context for this last chapter of the Gospel of John.

Jesus taught about love, the Holy Spirit, and about unity in His upper room discourse and high priestly prayer (Ch. 13-17).

These were the very last things that Jesus taught his disciples before He surrendered Himself to the judgment and cruelty of wicked men. So, these topics were extremely vital. For instance, how important is the topic of oneness in a covenant marriage or especially in a covenant with God? It is critically important! It is about “communion” (Grk. koinonia), which is fellowship and intimacy.
