National Good Neighbor Day is observed annually on September 28. This day was created to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of a good neighbor. It is a blessing to have a good neighbor, but it is even a greater thing to BE a good neighbor. Celebrate with your neighbors and help any neighbor in need.
Church Community Care Coordinators have decided it would be a good idea if churches supported National Good Neighbor Day by inviting neighbors over to their homes and/or help plan and organize a block/street gatherings where they live. The suggested flyer could be inserted into the Sunday bulletins to inform and encourage church members to participate. Also, this link to the Neighborhood Day website provides many more helpful hints regarding things to do and ways to organize an event.
